Mrs. Gladys Cox Weliever, 70 died unexpectedly at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born near Garfield, she married Harry m. Weliever in 1914 in Darlington. She was a 1914 graduate of Darlington HS and member of the Darlington Methodist Church, WSCS and Darlington OES. She was an assistant postmaster for Darlington and assisted her husband when he was trustee of Franklin Township. Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Lynch of Plainfield; three sons, Richard, Donald and James all of Darlington; two brothers, Graydon Cox of Crawfordsville and Adrian Cox of Darlington and a sister, Mrs. Ray Sparks of Indianapolis. - kbz

Darlington - Gladys Cox Weliever, 70, of near Darlington died Sunday afternoon.
She was a native of Garfield, born April 18, 1896 to Byron and Myrtie Binford Cox.  She married Harry M. Weliever here on 10/21/1914.  Mrs. Weliever attended schools here and was a 1914 graduate of Darlington High School.  She was a memeber of Darlington Methodist Church and WSCS and the Darlington OES.  For a time she served as assistant postmaster here. Surviving beside the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Lynch of Plainfield; three sons, Richard, Donald and James of Darlington; two brothers, Graydon Cox of near Crawfordsville and Adrian Cox of Darlington; a sister, Mrs. Ray Sparks of Indianapolis; an uncle, Harry Binford of Garfield, and 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday at the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. Robert Hansen officiating.  Friends may call after 4pm Tuesday. - kbz
